Advent Program


Last night was the K-3 Advent Program. The theme was the Jessie Tree and the students sang beautifully. They acted out all the different ornaments that hang on a Jessie Tree and even played instruments. It was a great show!

5th Graders Birthday/Gift Giving Party


5th graders, Libby and Gabe had a most unusual birthday party last week. They and all the 5th graders took a hay ride from the school down to the Louisville ice skating rink. All of their "presents" were donations for the annual school auction. What a great way to pay it forward!

Magazine Sale Grand Prize Winner!


Third grader, Danielle got a huge surprise when she won a gum ball machine almost as big as herself! Danielle's name was chosen as the Grand Prize Winner from those students who qualified in our fall fundraiser. Way to go!

Summer Camp Fun


Summer Camp kids enjoy fun in the sun at the Louisville swimming pool (just next door). Summer Camp runs through August and each week has a different theme. The campers make crafts, go on field trips, play games, and swim! This week's theme is Mountains and the campers are going on a hike, making volcanoes and bird houses, and having a camp cookout. Field Day 2011

Yearbook Release and Signing Party


Thanks to two wonderful parent volunteers, Lori Welty and Desirae Rose, the yearbook for the 2010-2011 school year was released on Tuesday and was a huge success. Everyone was all smiles at the signing party in Benedict Hall - this will truly be a year to remember!

Talent Show Cuties


Second grade girls performed in last night's Talent Show along with many other acts. Talent ranged from Kindergarten piano/vocals to an 8th grade trumpet player. The two bands (beginning and intermediate) and the tone chime choir also performed. We have great talent at St. Louis!

Pastor for a Day!

One of the things Father Tim likes to do on Holy Thursday is treat his altar servers to lunch. Over 40 altar servers pose in front of the Double Happy Restaurant on Main Street in Louisville.

Principal for a Day!


Claire McConville was Principal for a Day last week. She answered emails, did a school tour, met with a fundraising vendor, handled a discipline issue, presented awards after Mass, and supervised a fire drill. We had a good time and I wish I had an assistant everyday!

7th grade on retreat at St. Malo


7th graders went on a two day retreat to St. Malo in Allenspark, CO. This retreat is called the JPII Outdoor Lab and mixes Religion and Science. Students study botany, pollination, ecology, and go on snowshoeing adventures and hikes.

Kindergarteners do the Mass


One of the things we do at St. Louis, is have the students plan and participate in the Mass - even the Kindergarteners. Last week was Mrs. N's Kindergarten Mass and on Wednesday, April 13 at 8:30AM, we will have Mrs. Soper's class. It is amazing how well they read! It is also great to see how their 4th grade buddies help them. Please come to our next Kindergarten Mass and see them in action!

Class Quilts on Display


The annual Angel Auction Winter Ball is this Saturday - our largest fundraiser! Class quilts are on display in Benedict Hall and they are wonderful. Thanks to all you talented quilters. There will be many other class projects as well including a Winter Snow Globe painting by 6th grade, tile projects by 4th and 8th graders, and a mosaic table by 7th grade.

5th Grade Mass


The annual Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools 5th grade Mass was yesterday at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver. All 5th graders received a cross blessed by the Archbishop.

Middle school students competed at Boulder Regional History Day this past weekend. 7th grade girls did a performance titled "A Look Back in Time, The Fight for Women's Rights" and a 7th grade boy entered a web page on Irish Immigrants.

2nd Graders Make Bench for the Auction


Mrs. McCann's 2nd graders help put finishing touches on the bench they will give for the annual Angel Auction on Saturday, March 19. Tickets are on sale now for the dinner/auction as well as raffle tickets for the $10,000 prize!

Promethean Boards


We have two new Promethean Boards in our Middle School Science and Social Studies classrooms - the students and teachers are loving them!

Middle School Dance


The Student Council hosted a Valentine Dance for 6-8 graders on Thursday, February 10 after school in Benedict Hall. This was a "dress up" dance with great music and food.

Our school Science Fair was held on January 20th. We had over 50 exhibits from students in grades 4-8. Our Middle School winners will advance to the Boulder Valley School District Regional Science Fair on February 28.

Catholic Schools Week begins the week of January 30, 2011 with special events scheduled each day. Join us!

- Sunday, Jan. 30 Open House from 8:30-11:30AM K-8 and Early Learning Center tours.
Teachers will be available for questions and classrooms will have fresh cinnamon rolls!
- Monday, Jan. 31 All School Assembly at 2:00PM in Benedict Hall featuring the Student Council.
- Tuesday, Feb. 1 School Tours 9:00-11:00AM and Kindergarten Roundup
Children and their parents planning on going to Kindergarten next fall can visit and experience Kindergarten 10:00-10:30AM
- Wednesday, Feb. 2 All School Mass 8:30AM and Kindergarten Roundup 10:00-10:30AM
- Thursday, Feb. 3 Middle School Shadowing 9:00-10:00AM
